La plupart des grandes innovations qui ont transform\u00e9 nos vies, d\u2019Internet au laser en passant par les vaccins \u00e0 ARN messager, sont d\u2019abord n\u00e9es dans des laboratoires de recherche. En 2020, par exemple, l\u2019essor de la technologie de l\u2019ARN messager a permis de mettre au point un vaccin moins d\u2019un an apr\u00e8s l\u2019\u00e9mergence d\u2019un virus, alors que le d\u00e9veloppement d\u2019un vaccin pouvait auparavant prendre pr\u00e8s de dix ans.<\/p><p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words\">Aujourd\u2019hui, face \u00e0 des crises comme le changement climatique ou les pand\u00e9mies, <b>l\u2019innovation scientifique reste l\u2019un de nos meilleurs atouts pour d\u00e9velopper de nouvelles solutions<\/b>: \u00e9nergies propres, nouveaux traitements m\u00e9dicaux, mat\u00e9riaux durables\u2026 Mais ces r\u00e9ponses potentielles restent invisibles tant qu\u2019elles ne sortent pas des laboratoires. Par d\u00e9finition, une startup deeptech cherche \u00e0 valoriser \u00e9conomiquement une avanc\u00e9e scientifique innovante, en cr\u00e9ant le pont entre le laboratoire et le march\u00e9.\nMais d\u00e9montrer la valeur d\u2019une invention en dehors du cadre acad\u00e9mique constitue un v\u00e9ritable d\u00e9fi. L\u2019innovation doit se confronter aux r\u00e9alit\u00e9s techniques \u2014 industrialisation, fiabilit\u00e9 \u2014 mais aussi \u00e9conomiques \u2014 besoins des clients, co\u00fbts, concurrence. De nombreux projets \u00e9chouent faute de financements ou d\u2019un environnement adapt\u00e9 permettant de passer du prototype au produit fini.<\/p><p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words\">Ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, tout un \u00e9cosyst\u00e8me s\u2019est structur\u00e9 pour accompagner ces entrepreneurs de la science appliqu\u00e9e. Incubateurs, acc\u00e9l\u00e9rateurs et fonds sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s, publics comme priv\u00e9s, contribuent \u00e0 r\u00e9duire les risques et \u00e0 acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer la mise sur le march\u00e9. En France, le Plan Deeptech, lanc\u00e9 en 2019, a renforc\u00e9 cette dynamique en finan\u00e7ant notamment la maturation des technologies issues des laboratoires.<\/p><p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words\">R\u00e9sultat : <b>la France compte aujourd\u2019hui pr\u00e8s de 2 600 startups deeptech actives, soutenues par des financements en forte progression,<\/b> avec 4,1 milliards d\u2019euros lev\u00e9s en 2023. Cette croissance t\u00e9moigne du renforcement des liens entre recherche et industrie.\n\nCr\u00e9er une startup deeptech reste une aventure de long terme. Mais certaines jeunes entreprises parviennent \u00e0 franchir le cap et \u00e0 faire entrer ces innovations dans notre quotidien. Baptis\u00e9e Cruso\u00e9, sa formule s\u2019est r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9e efficace \u00e0 90 % lors des tests en laboratoire, contre 55 % pour la mol\u00e9cule de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence, le DEET.\n\nAvec l\u2019accompagnement du startup studio Technofounders, cette innovation de laboratoire est devenue un produit certifi\u00e9 et commercialis\u00e9 en pharmacie : plus de 400 000 flacons ont d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 vendus. La startup a d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 des machines \u00e9quip\u00e9es de lampes UV-C qui stimulent les d\u00e9fenses naturelles des plantes et permettent, par exemple, de rendre les vignes plus r\u00e9sistantes aux maladies. R\u00e9sultat : le proc\u00e9d\u00e9 permet d\u2019\u00e9viter jusqu\u2019\u00e0 50 % \u00e0 100 % des fongicides sur certaines cultures, sans perte de rendement pour l\u2019agriculteur. Apr\u00e8s sept ann\u00e9es de R&amp;D, la technologie est d\u00e9sormais d\u00e9ploy\u00e9e dans des vignobles et des exploitations mara\u00eech\u00e8res et a suscit\u00e9 l\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat d\u2019acteurs industriels \u2014 le groupe Kubota a notamment investi dans l\u2019entreprise. En rempla\u00e7ant certains intrants chimiques par une exposition aux UV, cette innovation issue d\u2019un laboratoire de biophysique apporte une r\u00e9ponse concr\u00e8te aux enjeux d\u2019une agriculture plus durable.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words\">Dans le domaine de la sant\u00e9 <a href=\"https:\/\/plasana.fr\/\">Plasana Medical<\/a> illustre \u00e9galement <b>la capacit\u00e9 de la deeptech \u00e0 mettre de nouveaux outils entre les mains des soignants.<\/b>La startup utilise le plasma froid, un gaz faiblement ionis\u00e9, pour traiter les plaies chroniques. D\u00e9velopp\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9cole Polytechnique, cette technologie permet d\u2019\u00e9liminer les agents pathog\u00e8nes tout en stimulant la cicatrisation des tissus. Plasana d\u00e9veloppe ainsi un dispositif portable prometteur pour le traitement des ulc\u00e8res et des plaies difficiles \u00e0 cicatriser : la preuve qu\u2019une avanc\u00e9e scientifique peut donner naissance \u00e0 un nouvel outil m\u00e9dical.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words\">Ces exemples montrent que lorsque la science rencontre un \u00e9cosyst\u00e8me favorable et un cas d\u2019usage clairement identifi\u00e9, elle peut apporter des r\u00e9ponses concr\u00e8tes aux grands enjeux de soci\u00e9t\u00e9. Longtemps invisibles et r\u00e9serv\u00e9es aux laboratoires, des connaissances scientifiques tr\u00e8s sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9es finissent ainsi par se traduire en produits et en solutions
